It’s time to stop talking about Kevin.

22/03/2013

.

The civil war as Abbott calls it is ended. Kevin Rudd launched the white flag today. And his generals lined up to surrender their arms.

It’s over. It should have been over last year. The fact that the PM has been trying to run a hung parliament, draw out the opposition on policy, and get the parties message out all while, as Chris Bowen put it, Project Rudd, was in operation amazes me. People ask why she is lagging in the polls. Work it out.

One by one the unnamed sources approached the microphones in the blue room and one by one they exposed themselves. For months, you couldn’t find a paper without a story from one of those unnamed sources. Each time landing body blows to the PM and the party as a whole.

And in the afternoon, Kevin followed up the media statement of the morning with a presser confirming that indeed, Project Rudd is finished.

Time for the media to actually do their bloody job. Give the public a clear and constant comparison of both parties policies and actually start talking about those instead of the gossip and the sniping. Instead of smear and slander, talk about what it is both parties are actually saying they want to do.

The media has a responsibility that the public is fully and adequately informed on what really matters. Policy. Politicians, as we have seen today, come and go. But its policy that last. Hawke has come and gone, but Super and Medicare is still with us. The reforms the ALP are talking about are huge and are essential for the nation. Time to to talk about this stuff more and personalities less.

In the rush to talk about Kevin, the forced adoption apology was marred. It really is time to stop talking about Kevin.

.

This important day went under the radar because people were too busy talking about Kevin.

Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.
Wake up – sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead. She’s gone where the goblins go,
Below – below – below. Yo-ho, let’s open up and sing and ring the bells out.
Ding Dong’ the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low…….

Tweed, you really don’t get it. You are suffering from an image that has been projected into your head by Murdoch, Fairfax, ABC & the rest of the media dunderheads.

The PM is going to come out of all of this with her reputation of being a strong & resolute leader intact. The rats in the ranks of the ALP have exposed as traitors to the party.

The PM and the policies that have been enacted so far are (with more to come) great for this country and its people.

So, lets get on with the job, support the policies that will benefit us all and expose TA & the LNP for what they stand for. Lies, No Policies. (only want to take us back to the past). PM & ALP have policies for the future.

For this #lameduck #lightonthehill party, but not necessarily for the phoenix entity that will inevitably arise from the ashes of the train wreck in september #lifeboats overboard. Treachery’s aftermath! Ethics writ large.

    • You keep mention the asylum seeker policy but you forget to mention the coalition voted for it. What this govt will not do is create watchlists so xenophobes can consider themselves some how safe.
