‘I am the father, the son, and the holy ghost’

08/04/2012

What did Jesus really mean to tell us when he said these words? Was he being literal? Three very different entities all co existing at the same time!

Many people are unaware that the three main religions we read about in the papers all actually worship the same God. In fact, all three religions call Abraham their own. Not only is Jesus a direct descendent of the line of David, who is a direct descendent of Abraham; Islam heralds its claim through Ishmael, Abraham’s first born son.

The three religions share not only a God, but a holy city. One religion sees its self as venerable wise old one. One religion sees itself as the new modern son. And the other sees itself as the whirling hand of God.

Judism (The Father), Christianity, (The Son) and Islam (The Holy Ghost). Christ even put them in founding order.

Now many people for all these religions will refuse to entertain this notion that this is what Christ may have been telling us. That the one God can be worshipped in three different ways and God accepts all three. But that is not where I was going with this.

Lets say that all three religions DO worship the same God. And they do. No one can deny this. Then oh fellow humans, when you are a member of one of these religions and you kill others not only from your religion but from others, you are offending God. You are killing one of his followers. In so doing, you gain nothing for your religion because not only are your attacks launched in the name of God, the attack is launched on the people of God. Remember folks. Same God.

They say familiarity breeds contempt. It appears to be so in the case of the One God.

It appears to me that too many people are ignoring Jesus’s other words. ‘Judge not lest ye be judged’ and ‘Do unto others as you would have them do to you’ and my favourite ‘Love one another as I have loved you’. The last one is the key. Imagine loving someone you call an enemy with the same love God has for you? Boggles the mind huh? But maybe all God was saying was before you go attacking his people, you better think!

I myself choose not to believe any of this bullshit and feel totally grown up and able to be responsible for everything I do, with no spooky woo woo in the sky taking the credit or the blame. Neurotic obsessive compulsive behaviour comes from irrational thoughts stemming from fear of spooky woo woos in the sky . I just wish everyone would grow up, and get on with having a nice life.

    • I think that is pretty much the message.
